As of June 2022, our office is still closed until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are not offering any treks or shuttles as a result at this time, however you can still support the children of Xela here.

Finding our office:

Hop on a bus:

Quetzaltenango is Guatemala’s second largest city, with good bus connections to Guatemala City,  the location of the nearest international airport (4 – 6 hrs). There are also plenty of bus connections to and from other cities in the Western part of the country as well as daily shuttles to Antigua, Lago Atitlán and San Cristóbal (Mexico). For up to date information about transport to and from Quetzaltenango, check out or read our FAQ.

Hike it:

Our office is located in the back of Casa Argentina, a backpacker hostel that is run independently of Quetzaltrekkers. We’re about a 10 minute walk from Parque Central – and just around the corner from Mercado Flores.

Outside, you will see Casa Argentina and Quetzaltrekkers murals on the wall. Knock on the door to be let in, go through the kitchen, up the stairs and onto the patio, then down the next set of stairs and to the very back, passing hostel rooms until you see the Quetzaltrekkers sign and office
