Founded in 1998 with a call to action, three friends planted trees on the weekends, sowing the seeds of environmental justice in their indigenous community. Today, Chico Mendes continues reshaping the world, and their team of local youth and international volunteers work together to harness the power of hands, voices, and hearts, planting trees in the mountains of Cantel.<\/p><p>There are many ways to be involved with Chico Mendes, by volunteering in their native tree nursery, joining in planting efforts, or simply becoming a donor.
