Beach Hostel Volunteer

Like the original Quetzaltrekkers in Leon, Quetzal Playa is operated by volunteers and therefore is constantly looking for the next great talent: someone who can pour energy and fun into managing and working a small beach-front hostel. This means keeping guests happy and well fed, liaising with suppliers, staff and trekking volunteers and of course having a good time (very important!).  Strong Spanish is a must; experience working/living in developing countries as well as a smattering of catering, accounts, maintenance and/or hospitality experience are a plus, but attitude is all. Quetzal Playa is proud to announce a few wonderful new additions to what was already a fantastic beach hostel.

In January we bought two shiny new bikes that are now available for use, which will allow all our sexy guests to cruise around downtown Las Peñitas in style.

And just last week we aquired a fancy new projector and DVD selection (so we now have MOVIE NIGHT!) as well as an official regulation sized volleyball set.

Finally, we are continuing to develop our book library so in-between beers, naps and volleyball games all of our clients can find themselves peacefully enjoying a good read in our hammocks.

Believe it or not, this kind of thing happens every day down here.  Why don’t you come visit and enjoy it with us?

After a lot of very sudden hard work, Quetzal Playa Beach Hostel will be opening on Thursday, June 16th!

We’re opening the morning after our Full Moon hike and offering our hikers a special opening deal with private transport, a welcome drink, bed and a BBQ dinner. All this can be yours for only $10 if you can scale a Volcano! (and probably pretty close if you can’t!).
