Hi, I’m Ricardo, I’m from Honduras. As a specialist in financial education, I have worked supporting migrants and internally displaced people in my country, so supporting the children of this beautiful place in Guatemala combines my passions, which are hiking and creating awareness and social change in our region.
I believe that EDELAC brings real change to the community, so I feel grateful to be able to help.

Hi! I’m Ben from the United States. Nearly a year ago I graduated from university back home in Colorado with a degree in Latin American studies and international relations. After spending some months on the road, I felt the need for a community again and to participate in something worthwhile. Quetzaltrekkers fulfills everything I am in search of right now, including a love for hiking, fascinating interactions with people from all origins, an incredible community all oriented towards the same goals, and participating in an inspiring organization. I look forward to seeing you on the trails!

Hello, I’m Conor, an avid nature enthusiast and proud Irishman volunteering as a hike guide in Guatemala. With a deep-seated passion for mountains and nature, I relish every opportunity to explore and share the beauty of Guatemala’s diverse landscapes. Beyond the trails, I’m eager to delve into the rich tapestry of history and culture that defines this remarkable country. Join me for an unforgettable journey where adventure meets education, as we uncover the natural wonders and cultural treasures of Guatemala together.

Hey there! I’m Will and I’m from the United States.

I’m here at Quetzaltrekkers to open my heart and listen – to grow and surround myself with like minded individuals who share a passion for service, culture, the rich and beautiful history of Guatemala, language, adventure and the environment.

I feel the most myself on the trail and love jazz, wine, literature and philosophy. ¡Buen Camino!

Hola! I’m Conrad from England. A while ago I quit my job and started travelling down the continent of America. I wanted to stop somewhere, get to know a place, and find a worthwhile project to dedicate my time to, and with Quetzaltrekkers I found all of that and more! I still can’t quite believe that I can spend my days on one of my passions (hiking), meet amazing people, and help raise money for such a worthwhile cause with EDELAC all at the same time.
Aside from getting out into nature, my passions include sport of pretty much any kind, history, literature and a proper cup of tea. Looking forward to seeing you out here soon!

Hola! I’m Kim, a Dutchie who currently finds herself “stuck” in the Guatemalan highlands. In my quest of finding some mountains to compensate for the few hills my country has to offer I stumbled upon Quetzaltrekkers.

Being able to support the children of EDELAC while doing what I love has been the most amazing experience and adventure. From hiking through local villages and communities to finding a volcano around every corner, there is always a story to be told. Hope to see you on the trail!

Hello, I’m Alex, from the UK. Having just finished university and not knowing what to do, I came back to QT for a second go, having liked it so much the first time. I like hiking, nature, avocados, trivia nights and doing daft accents.
I am very happy to be here hiking and supporting Edelac. Looking forward to hiking with you !

Hola, I’m Yara! Coming from the Netherlands I am amazed by the spectacular mountainous scenery Guatemala has to offer. However, the best part of Quetzaltrekkers is for me the incredible people I get to work with on a daily basis, who are all supporting the kids and the social projects of EDELAC.

Hola, I’m Bryan. I love my work as a coordinator for Quetzaltrekkers here in Xela, and have spent well over a year now in this amazing place. I grew up in Oregon in the USA, but I am so grateful to live and work here in the stunning volcanic highlands, and I really value this organization’s incredible mission. All the relationships I’ve gotten to build here are so important to me, and I can’t imagine a better place to put my background in outdoor education into practice for such a unique nonprofit.
