Volcan Zunil

2-day camping adventure to Volcan Zunil: hike up to the 3542m summit to see one of the best sunrise views in Guatemala and enjoy a well deserved soak in the hot springs afterwards.

Start Booking

Summary

Challenge yourself with the road less travelled to the top of Zunil for sunrise, and finish the adventure in natural hot pools heated by the volcano.

After a strenuous 8-hour trek through beautiful forests, which includes a lunch stop with views of Lake Atitlan, we will arrive at our basecamp just below the peak of Zunil. Then we enjoy a warm dinner before getting an early night. We plan to wake up at 4 am and hike to the summit to watch the sunrise and witness one of the most incredible views in Guatemala, with up to 16 volcanoes visible on a clear day. Following breakfast at basecamp, we descend towards the Fuentes Georginas hot springs, where you can relax in the pools after having lunch at the restaurant.

* Please note that this trek must be booked with a paid deposit by 11am the day prior to departure. All requests to book made after this time are not guaranteed and will incur a Q50 late fee.

**There is a mandatory pre-trip meeting at 5:30pm the evening prior to the trek’s departure. Here, you will meet your guides and fellow trekkers, borrow any gear you may need, receive communal gear, finalize payment, and more.**
