Summary

Looking for a fun hike to fill your morning in Xela? Why not enjoy breakfast at the lookout point of one of Guatemala’s most active volcanoes: Santiaguito.

This gradual uphill hike will take you through local farm fields and pine forest as we circumnavigate the imposing Santa Maria volcano to its active vent complex. Our early start should allow us to beat the clouds and witness explosive eruptions while we enjoy breakfast. This is a half-day, moderately easy hike; tours return to Xela around Noon.

Please note that this trek must be booked with a paid deposit by 11am the day prior to departure. All requests to book made after this time are not guaranteed and will incur a Q50 late fee. Day hikes run pending guide availability.
