Trama Textiles Weaving Cooperative

Support over 100 indigenous women in the highlands by buying from this worker-owned textiles collective, or take a workshop to learn more about the history and culture of weaving.

A local cooperative supporting Indigenous women weavers

Trama Textiles aims to empower Indigenous women in the highlands and preserve the art of traditional weaving by uniting weavers from across the region, providing fair work and helping build economic independence.

As a completely worker-owned cooperative, any way you choose to be involved with Trama helps support their mission. By purchasing products, taking a class, or just stopping by to learn the story, you can help this project support the incredible traditions of Mayan textiles.

What to Expect:

Go by the Trama Textiles shop in the heart of Xela! Open every day except Sunday, you can take short workshops, browse all the handmade products, or inquire about volunteering opportunities.

Support EDELAC Directly

We love to promote and support other social projects and sustainable tourism initiatives in the highlands of Guatemala. We also invite you to directly sponsor housing, care, and education for children living in poverty in the region by giving to the primary school and safe home of EDELAC.
